Hi, my name is
Suné Waugh
I build things for the web.
I am a Web Developer specialising in building WordPress websites. I am currently focused on building and maintain mainly WordPress websites at Providence Hospitality.
About Me
Hey there, I’m Suné Waugh, a web developer currently working over at Providence Hospitality. I’ve been with the team for a little over a year now, and my responsibilities mainly revolve around managing the United Kingdom’s sites. This means that I’m often building new sites, maintaining around 10 websites, and making sure that all the changes we need get executed smoothly.
But what really gets me going is the non-visual side of website development. I love focusing on the elements that enhance a user’s experience and journey on a site. To me, that’s what really makes a website stand out.
When I’m not coding, you can usually find me hanging out with my two dogs, working on puzzles (of all sorts), or trying to grow plants (even though I’m not very good at it). I’m excited about the future of web development and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!

Front-End Web Developer
at Providence Hospitality
February 2022 – Present
As the web developer at Providence Hospitality, I have been building and maintaining nine of our United Kingdom branch properties’ websites. Using WordPress as our primary platform and Elementor as our trusty tool, I’ve had a blast creating innovative designs with custom CSS and JavaScript. And when limitations arise, I get creative with solutions to make sure everything runs smoothly.
But that’s not all! As a team player, I’m always willing to lend a hand when our South African branch needs it. So whether it’s across the pond or across the globe, I’m dedicated to delivering the best results possible. With a passion for all things tech and a knack for creative problem-solving, I’m excited to take on new challenges and make our websites shine.
UI/UX Designer & Web Developer
at Quivertree
June 2022 – Present
Did you know that Providence Hospitality has a sister company, Quivertree, focused solely on digital marketing? As a web designer and builder at Quivertree, I have the exciting role of communicating with clients directly to understand their website preferences and researching their competitors to craft the perfect design.
Once we’ve got a solid design in place, I sit down with the client to work through any changes and tweaks until they’re thrilled with the final product. From there, it’s time to bring the design to life.
But it’s not just about looks – I ensure that the website runs at optimal performance. So once the site is built, I optimise it for speed, functionality, and user experience.
Junior Front-End Web Developer
at Woww Digital
November 2020 – July 2021
My journey as a Front-End Web Developer began at Woww – a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that was the perfect place to hone my skills. And because I’m always eager to learn, I soaked up everything I could.
At Woww, we worked a lot like freelancers – from lead generation to client communication to site building, we did it all. And while it was a lot of work, it was also incredibly rewarding to see our projects come to life.
But that’s not all! I also took some short courses in SEO and UI/UX design, which helped me find my passion for creating seamless user experiences. And while my heart may be in UI/UX, I still love building the websites themselves. So whether it’s crafting a stunning design or building a clean site, I’m dedicated to delivering results that make both the client and the user say “wow.”
UI/UX Designer
at Visual Render Design Studio
January 2020 – September 2020
During my tenure at VRD Studio, I held the position of UI/UX Designer at this dynamic startup. As part of a tight-knit team of five professionals, I was responsible for crafting impactful wireframes, designing intuitive icons, and curating engaging social media posts. Regrettably, due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced a retrenchment.
Working at VRD Studio provided me with invaluable insights into the field of UI/UX design, instilling in me a deep appreciation for self-discipline and a solid understanding of industry practices. It was during this formative experience that my passion for UI/UX blossomed, propelling me to pursue further growth and excellence in this domain.
